I've been busy sprucing up my SC house lately. I guess I'm trying to get the house ready for when we move back here for shore duty. This room will be the nursery if or when we decide to have kids.
Anyway, this room still needs to be painted and we'll put carpet in there, but other than that it is done. I greatly dislike wood paneling, so it will go! I'm going with greens and yellows in this room. I love it!
There was a twin trundle bed, a large desk, and office chair in here before. Since a twin trundle would work better as a daybed/couch, I moved it to the living room. I'm going to sell the desk, chair and a organ to make room for our GA furniture. I moved the full bed from the living room (I was using it as a couch) to the guest room.
I'm so excited to have it looking so great! I can't wait to show Greg. I wish I took before pics, because it was a junk room! It is very, very small, but it works for our needs. I think painting it cream or white will open the room up a little too. Well, here's the pics.

You know what I absolutely love? Cut flowers! They just brighten my day...especially if it's been a particularly lonely day. My favorites are orange roses, any color gerber daisies, and spider mums. I recently bought some for several rooms in my house. I have been busy redecorating my guest room. I'll post pics of that soon.
Here's the flowers that have brightened my day.
Aren't they pretty? Sigh. Anyway. I am strictly a cut flower type of gal. I have two black thumbs and can't even keep a poinsettia alive. I tried in December. Poor plant!
My mom is good with outside flowers. Her house always has nice landscaping, despite her busy schedule. I don't know how she does it, I certainly didn't inherit her talent!
Here's a couple of hers that are blooming right now. I love practicing with my camera!

I didn't have to work today. That was relaxing. :)
Since it has rained the last few days, I have two muddy, wet, stinky puppies. Since the sun decided to join us today, I called the groomer. She had room, so the boys went to get cleaned up. They each got nice patty day scarfs. They look so cute! I took the opportunity to take pictures of all of the boys...my two, Montgomery and Melbourne, Granny's Fuzzy, and my parents' Rocky D. So here are the pics of my fluffy, clean babies. :)
As usual, Melbourne is the most photogenic. Rocky D took some really good pics too! Montgomery would rather cuddle than be in pictures. Fuzzy is just crazy! lol :)

I finally got around to doing another what are you wearing Friday. Tiaras and Tantrums hosts this carnival, so check her blog out!
This is the outfit from last Friday. It takes me awhile to get pics put into my computer!
Let's see....here's the info.

Orange Mix it Shrug- Thrift store- $3.99

It's been awhile since I've posted anything about the boys. They're doing well. They keep me company at night. I love Montgomery and Melbourne with all my heart! Here's some random pics we took the other night while playing around. The other dog is Fuzzy, my grandmother's dog. He stays over with my boys while I'm in Charleston. He enjoys having friends around. :)

Warning! A massive picture post ahead! :)
I think I have a new obsession. Really. I am not one who loves exercise...at all. I'd prefer to sit in bed all day with my husband, computer and tv. That's a great day for me. :) But I think I'd be one of the fittest people in all the world if I could ski every day. I love skiing! I'm already trying to figure out a date I can go back in March.
I'll start at the beginning of my trip. I left on a Saturday morning. For the first 3nights I stayed with the Patrick family in a cabin. I was best friends with Tiffany all through out my time in our church youth group. So we've been on a few ski trips together.
I arrived at Sugar Mountain Saturday evening.
The slopes looked incredible!
When we woke up Sunday morning, it was freezing and snowing pretty hard. It had snowed most of the night. I tried to get a pic of how much had accumulated on the porch.
Tiffany's sister, Emily and her friend, Stacy were so excited to go out and play in it. It seemed they never tired of it!
They made powdery snowballs...
...and threw them at each other.
They made several snow angels.
I really just enjoyed practicing my photography skills. There is so much to learn and with every shot, I learn more! Babies seems so photogenic. Shooting in the falling snow provides a challenge, though. Here are a few of Tiffany and her baby boy, Kade.
I love this pic. It came out so beautifully!
Here's more pics of the girls.
I also practiced using my tripod and remote on a few pics of me.

I heart Greg!
We tried to go tubing on Sunday afternoon, but it was just too cold and blowing snow. We decided to come back on Monday. On Monday, the Patricks went tubing and I hit the slopes. The thing I love about Sugar Mountain is that they have snow blades (which are shorter and wider than skis) and their slopes are not quite as steep in most places. It was a wonderful day. The wind was still up and I got wind burn, but I didn't care. Here's a few pics I took that day, but my main focus was skiing.
My locker. The guy was nice enough to give me a bottom one for my short self. :)
Our church's youth group arrived Monday night. I got an early start on skiing on Tuesday while a few members of the youth group took lessons. We eventually met up and took a few pics. I got some pics from a friend's camera, so they have those annoying time stamps on them. But overall, it was a great day. I was starting to feel the muscle burn by this day, though. Oh how sore!

On the slopes
By Wednesday I phsyched myself up to try snowboarding. LOL...that is not my forte. I took an hour lesson. I went down the bunny slope two times after the lesson on my own. After I did a face plant and knocked the wind out of my lungs, I hung it up. I can ski from the top of the mountain without falling. I didn't need to bruise myself up. I might try it another year, after I've had time to practice on a skateboard.
When I traded my snowboard in for my snowblades, the guy who adjusted my blades told me about how I shocked the other workers in the room on Tuesday. They guessed I was around 15 or 16. He said that when he told them I was 24 (you have to put age, height, weight on the paper), they didn't believe him. He showed them the paper. I just laughed. Yes, I have a young appearance.
Here's some pics from the slopes. It is really interesting to ski down the slopes with a dslr around one's neck. I was very, very careful to not fall while I had my camera.
Here is a pic from the top of the mountain. Breathtaking!

On the way home, I snapped this pic of a water wheel frozen over. It's pretty cool!
Me on the last day of skiing. :( I love my camera though, it really does take great shots regardless of who is behind the camera!
